beliefs

I am Christian. I am member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
You may be familiar with the term, "Mormon," but that is simply a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, believers in The Book of Mormon. We have recently tried to steer clear of that nickname, however; although The Book of Mormon contains many invaluable truths we hold dearly, our Savior, Jesus Christ is our Center. We want to focus on His name and not a book we believe in.

I used to have a ton of history and facts and details written out on this page, but my latest revamp has me simplifying the heck out of this blog. So here is what I believe:

God lives. His Son, Jesus Christ, is our Savior. I know Him and love Him for His perfect life and infinite Atonement that offers me grace upon grace. They have a plan for us. It extends beyond this mortal life; there is life after death--that brings me such comfort. The way to be happy in this life is clear and simple: Obeying the Gospel of Jesus Christ as outlined in the scriptures as the following:

1. Having faith in Jesus Christ

2. Repenting to be more like Him
3. Baptism by submersion with the proper priesthood authority
4. Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost
5. Enduring to the end

I purposefully wrote those out in gerund tense (-ing) because I have learned time and time again that "living the gospel" is not a one-and-done deal; it requires constant, diligent effort each and every day.

I would love to answer any questions you may have about these beliefs. I know what it is like to live without the hope that comes from faith, and nothing would bring me more joy than to share these truths I cherish. In a time where it is unpopular to be faithful or religious, I cling to my faith and the things I have personally come to know to be true. I cannot and will not deny what I know because I have learned firsthand what brings true, lasting joy. Please, visit this website to learn more, or contact me with any questions.
